1st day: take the Wiedersbergerhornbahn gondola to the top station and walk to the Wiedersbergerhorn peak at 2.127m (300 m elevation gain) - magnificent views in all directions to the Rofan Range and the Achensee, towards the Karwendel Range, the Stubai and Zillertal Alps to the Kitzbühel Alps with the mighty Galtenberg (the goal for tomorrow). The descent leads via the ridge towards the Standkopf. After approx. 2 hours walking time one can descend to Inneralpbach via the Moserbaumgartenalm. Alternatively continue along the ridge along a secured path towards the Sagtaler Spitzen - surefootedness and no fear of heights are prerequisites - and down to the Farmkehralm. Following a well-deserved rest continue out the valley along the Jagdsteig to Inneralpbach and stages first goal (please note: the first and only place, where one can have something to eat and drink is after an approx. 5 hour walk).
2nd day: the tours "royal" stage takes one up the Galtenberg to 2.424 m; leading from ones accommodation past the Restaurant Zirmalm and the Farmhouse Museum along the no. 721/A21 up to "Alplkreuz" and on following the signs for "Galtenberg". After the stretch through the woods a path leads gently along the saddle up to the final and strenuous climb to the Galtenberg. Take the same initial path for the descent but then follow the signs for Farmkehralm Hochleger and continue along the Schützensteig to reach the "Alplkreuz" taking the same path back to the start (please note: there are no huts en route - apart from the Farmkehralm below the Farmkehrhochleger, but one only reaches the hut at the end of the hike after approx. 6 hours).
3rd day: from Inneralpbach take the road leading into the Lueger valley crossing the bridge after the "Buam chapel" bear left and follwo the road uphill. The Oberer Höhenweg takes one past the Wurmhof and Roßmoos to Alpbach. Along this stage of the tour one has numerous possibilities to admire the peaks and mountain range of the last days' tours. At the bridge follow the signs for "Hösljoch". From the Hösl saddle a gentle path the A20, leads past the "Hösl" tarn to the Holzalm.
4th day: directly behind the Holzalm a path leads to the Gratlspitz at 1.893 m. One can see 26 church spires from this vantage point. From the peak follow the path in a westerly direction to the Hochstrickl, where one can have a pleasant rest - great views included. From this point a steep path leads downhill - once more surefootedness is required - to the Hauserjoch and through high pastures to the Bischoferalm. From the Bischoferalm a forestry road leads to Alpbach; shortly before the village turn right and continue on downhill, first on a narrow road and then on a path that brings one to where one started.
